Next we get married and live happily ever after.

Beyond the upcoming wedding we don't have a lot going on other than working/finding jobs and a place to settle down for the next couple years.

Let me know if you want some tips on what to do or where to stay in the area. I hope you had a great adventure the last 6 months. Now it's time to get to work like the rest of us!

I'm so very sorry to hear you were hit by a car Amy!! What a way to end your trip. And it sounds like you were getting strong. At least now you've got getting hit out of the way. I got hit last year by a car going lots slower, but it hit me from the side, and I broke both legs, so you indeed got off lucky - altho I bet it doesn't feel like it right now, with all of your soreness and scabs. Poor thing!! You have my sumpathy!!

Amy, glad you weren't severely hurt in your accident today Hwy. 101 is a very dangerous highway and not too many people can get hit by a car at 60 mph and walk away. So just be careful on the rest of your trip and keep an eye out for "old ladies" behind the wheel. Well, enjoy the rest of your trip, don't get too wet (it's the rainy season here in Ore. and Northern Cal.), and again be safe.
P. S. If you read this before you head south of Crescent City, be extra carful of that portion of the highway 101. As your map shows, it's a steep climb and very winding and narrow in places.

I found Amy & Josh's US Adventure card left on the table at the Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery where I waited on them for a beer sampler and some buffalo sort of wings - sorry we didn't have exactly what you were looking for... BUT none the less I wish I knew before you left that you were traveling on this adventure because The Mount Washington Valley has so much to offer! I feel that the weather that day may have been HHH - Hazy, Hot, and Humid - Right now it's crisp 70 temps and visibility of over 100 miles.... you may not have had the best impression of the area but I can assure you it's really an outdoor playground - world class rock climbing, hiking, biking, water sports of all kinds, camping, etc... The skiing in the winter is great too!
I didn't read anything about your experience here in North Conway or the White Mountains - maybe I missed something, but I hope you did have fun, whatever you did Have a great rest of your journey!

It's just me again. I was wondering how much the lobster dinners cost in Maine. Uncle Ken wants to go there soon and says that he has heard they are really cheap and good. Also, Amy did you try the blueberry beer? It sounds nasty. Hope it tasted good though. I am still trying to catch up on the reading you two provide. It will keep me busy all summer. Have fun! It sounds like you are.

Webmaster comment:

Hello, me again. The lobster in Maine, although not cheap, was still cheaper than other places. It was around 16.95 for our 1 lb. lobster and two side items. You could probably find it cheaper at some of the roadside shacks.

I've had at least 4 different blueberry beers in Maine and New Hampshire and they've all been really good. We also recommend the blueberry jam.

Also, overall, we really loved Maine, even if it was either hot and muggy or rainy and cloudy for all but 2 days of our stay there.

I love pictures and love to see the places you are visiting. Josh, you are going to have to show me how you take the close-up's of the flowers. They are spectaular!!!, so detailed. Sorry, I was the one who said to label the pictures, which I heard is a pain, but thank you for doing the latest ones. Please keep the pictures coming and be safe and enjoy your trip.

Webmaster comment:

I actually use some magnifying filters to take the close ups of the flowers. They screw on to the lens. I have a set of 3 of them and most of the time I use them all at once. They make it so the subject is bigger and they also make it so the background is more out of focus which makes the flower stand out more.

And I want to label the pictures whenever I have time as it will help me remember things later. So it's not a big deal.
